17 National Assistant Coach
Coach Lyndsay Hodges is in her 20th year as a teacher and coach. She has coached in the Houston area for the last 17 years but is from San Antonio where she played volleyball, basketball and ran track at Lee High School and then went on to play volleyball at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. She received her degree in English and Kinesiology but also has her master’s in Education Administration from Lamar University. Her coaching career began at Denton High School for two years where she was a volleyball and softball assistant coach, before heading to Houston. Once in Houston, she was an assistant for one year at Cy Fair HS before starting the Varsity Program at Cypress Ridge HS. In 2010 she left Cy Ridge to open Clear Falls HS and start the volleyball program there. Since the inception of the varsity season (2011), the Knights made great strides under her direction. In 2011 they were 4A Regional Quarterfinalists, in 2012 5A Regional Finalists, in 2013 they were 24-5A District Champions and 5A State Semi-Finalist, and in 2014 they placed third in District but finished as 6A State Finalists. Her post seasons from 2015-2018 ranged from Bi-District to Regional Finalist. She has had numerous athletes named to post-season teams at the district, county, city, state and national level. She has had one to two athletes a year make the city and the state All-Star teams. In 2014 she had an athlete named as the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year, who was also named as an Under Armor All-American.
